Good Morning and hope everyone is doing well...
I own a 1917 Willys Overland Model 90 roadster...
I wired her up with pvc wire to get her going and make sure she would be fairly reliable... so far so good...
The time has come to put some cloth covered wire in the harness... Talked to Rhode Island Wire Service today to check on availability... The whole web site is in stock with 2 to 3 days to ship... They were very informative and helpful...
But my question is...

(1) It appears that my harness is all one color maybe white or yellow... Would this be correct for the car???
(2) If I was to use yellow with a single tracer to map different circuits... Would this just kill me on judging???

I really don't know if she will ever be ready for judging... But I would like to wire her just once more not a third time...

thanks for your time
I have also noticed that my starter motor in my 1928 mod 96 Whippet has become pretty sluggish lately. Even with a fully charged (new) battery. Anyone have any experience with this? I want to keep it 6 volt.

I've Owned my 1928 Mod 96 Whippet Pick-Up for almost 40 years. I rebuilt it twice. The last time was around 1996. I rebuilt the engine at that time but never removed it from the frame. Recently it seems that the engine vibration is felt more & more while driving the truck. I never really understood the engine mounting. It's bolted solid to the frame at the rear and supported by springs in the front. Could my springs be bad? Would this cause the engine vibration felt in the truck? What about the solid rear mounting? Has anyone changed the springs and what did they use?? Were they hard to change?

Any info would be helpful.

By the way, I love the new forum. I have belonged to an Alfa form for a long time which is similar.

Yes there should be a classified section.

Also the Alfa form is broken into sub-categories by Year and or model. Very helpful too.

Thanks so much
I think I only need a few things to complete my 27 FK two door Brougham.

I am looking for a set of Balcrank tube bumpers, hopefully with the mounting brackets.

(4) Window cranks.

Instrument panel. I have all the gauges, it is the oval one. The one I have has a ding in the rim.

I also need the interior window trim for one of the doors. The window trim I need is three sided. The left and right of the trim are both 15 7/16” tall and the top is 31 15/16” wide. Both sides have 3 screw holes and the top has 4 screw holes. The surface that the screws go through is 1 1/8” wide. The inside of the two sides is almost flat and the top inside is a ¼ round or so. The roof must have been leaking for some time on the passenger side. From what I have been told by other members and the info on the net, it is the same body as the Whippet 93. Please let me know if you have the parts and are willing to part with them. feathers@rochester.rr.com

Good morning, everyone!

Just this weekend, I adopted my family's 1912 Overland 59T. I'll be sending in my WOKR registration asap!

So - although I love this car and have fond memories of it from my childhood, I don't know that much about caring for old cars. I do have a background in engineering, and my husband and I are pretty handy, but I know I have LOTS to learn. The car is overall in good shape, but has been sitting mostly unattended for the last 10 years or more.

My plan is to start with the basics - get the outside cleaned up! But how do I find out what to use to clean/protect the leather, care for the wood, clean up the brasso that someone got all over it, etc?

Does anyone have suggestions on where to start with these kinds of basics? Any books or other resources that serve as a good introduction? Once I get my feet wet by caring for the cosmetics, I'll start to learn about the real mechanics a little at a time.

Any ideas will be welcome! Thanks...

I am in search of parts for my whippet 96A motor. Right now I am looking for a head gasket and valves. Or is there anything out there that would tell me what is on the market now that would be equivalent? Something that says Part# X is equivalent to Part# Y.
Is there a company/individual out there that sells vintage parts?

Last summer I purchased a 1923 model 91 Overland. I started it after at least twenty years of not running.

The ear on the distributor is broken where it connects to the advance linkage. The model of the distributor is IG which I got from WOKR. Does anyone know what the make of this distributor is?

Does anyone have any suggestions of a fix for this problem.

Thanks.
